Your Right to Privacy:

Privacy Policy:
Here at MyTourettesblog.com, your right to privacy is taken very seriously. Your
information will not be sold under any circumstances. The only information this
website will receive is the information that you willingly provide (I.E. Names, e-mail
addresses, ratings, etc.). PLEASE NOTE: sometimes your name and/or e-mail
address is required to send a message on the feedback forum, assuming that you
want a response. You do not have to give me your primary e-mail, domain names,
website addresses, or even your last name. As long as I have at least a first name
and something to go by, I will answer your message in the manner you have chosen.
When using the my message forum, hosted by Bravenet.com, or the Yahoo!
Database, companies will sometimes store your IP address for reference. Rest
assured, that almost ANY web hosting provider will do this as well. It is not cause for
alarm. Your IP address does not identify you personally and does not give these
hosting services any information that you do not want displayed. The IP address
simply lets computers attached to the Internet know what data you would like to
send/receive. An example of this type of data is statistics about the web pages you
have viewed (I.E. Total number of hits [views] from the total number of users that visit a
particular page).
3rd Party Advertising:
The ad's that you see displayed are from Google itself and 3rd party advertisers that
are affiliated with Google. The ad's showing are chosen from key phrases on my site,
such as the key phrase: Tourette Syndrome --> in which case, ad's about Tourette
Syndrome would then show on that particular page. These advertisers display ads to
draw in audiences based on the type of ad that is showing, the ad title, or even paid
advertising links. Sometimes revenue can be earned from basic clicks on these ad's
for both the advertisers, the webmasters, owner of specific domains, and those that
run their own websites. In most cases, the revenue earned by websites is next to
nothing, in comparison to the large advertising companies that can afford to spend
millions of advertising dollars, knowing that they will get a decent sum in return. In
other words, the more you can afford to put out, the more you will get in return -->
referring to revenue earned through clicks. Users on MyTourettesBlog.com will
NEVER be charged for clicking on an ad. These services are used to broaden your
choice of websites on the Internet, through advertising, seeing as search engines are
extremely saturated when searching by key words. The idea is that you have to
advertise extensively these days to get noticed online.
Privacy of Children:
If you are a minor that is interested in contacting me through my site, please first get
permission from your parent or guardian. A minor is defined as most people under
the age of 18 in the U.S. Please remember that different states, provinces, and
countries/regions may have different laws pertaining to what is defined as being a
minor. I ask that anyone who is defined as actually BEING a minor get prior consent to
message me on my site. PLEASE NOTE: it is a parents duty to monitor their children
and those under their guardianship. I do not wish to promote exchange of personal
information from user to user on this site, such as: e-mail addresses (especially that
of a minor), residential addresses, and whereabouts online and at home/in-person.
All messages sent to me (site admin) using e-mail addresses and any of the
aforementioned information will remain private, unsold, and with regards to whatever
the user chooses to distribute to me online. I am a social advocate for disabilities, but
I am also an advocate for safe Internet usage, especially if someone is defined as
underage. All in all, a minor's right to privacy will still be upheld when visiting my site.
Changes in Policy:
All information in the privacy policy is subject to change. This is to comply with
different advertising laws, federal/state rules and regulations, and the practice of safe
Internet usage online. If there is a policy that is mentioned or one that becomes
outdated, an update will be enacted to change the policy. This also goes for updating
policies that have a positive benefit (I.E. rights/permission of usage for minors, etc.).
Please do not harass anyone on my forum and misuse the privacy policy and/or the
terms of service. Such misuse may result in certain legal situations (stemming from
harassment from user to user or from specific users/spammers to my site). If you
violate the right to privacy of others, you will be permanently banned from
MyTourettesBlog.com and reported to the proper authorities.
